Volunteer Commitments and Policies
  1. I will follow school and classroom rules and behave appropriately as a role model when with students on or off school grounds.
  2. I will be free from the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs when with students on or off school grounds.
  3. I will never purposefully endanger the life or health of a student.
  4. I will support and follow the teacher's instructions, rules and curriculum.
  5. I will perform only the duties described by HEROES and my school site supervisor, and I will not be on school grounds outside of my assigned volunteer job times unless I make arrangements with the school administration.
  6. I will inform the teacher, school, and HEROES of any changes of my address, phone numbers, or emergency contact.
  7. I will meet the time commitment required for my volunteer position.
  8. I will always work with students in a location that is supervised by school site personnel or get fingerprinted if I will be working in an unsupervised location with students. I will notify HEROES if I have not been fingerprinted and am asked to work in an unsupervised setting.
  9. I will have a current tuberculosis test on file with HEROES before volunteering, I will meet all other screening requirements as determined by the HEROES staff.
  10. I have never been convicted of a felony.
